 The Diplomatic Archives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs collects, classifies, and preserves Japan’s diplomatic records and makes them available to the public for perusal.
 It also exhibits valuable treaties and other historical documents from the end of the Tokugawa period to the present day. Everyone is welcome to the Diplomatic Archives to have a look.

 The Diplomatic Archives will be temporarily closed on Tuesday, November 7 and Wednesday, November 8 due to the G7 Foreign Ministers' Meeting to be held at the adjacent Ikura Guest House. (October 16, 2023)

  The Reading Room is open from 10：00 am to 5:30 pm and does not require prior booking. Please visit our Japanese website for details.

 The Exhibition Room will be closed from 30 September for relocation. Details of the new exhibition room will be announced later. (June 8. 2023)
